The web has become an important part of our society. In a lot of cases, when people are looking for goods or services they type what they wish to find in a search box and look for what they want on the Internet. This is a trend that will continue to grow. There are more smart phones and other ways that people stay connected on the go. There is a new class of personal electronics called a MID (Mobile Internet Device) that will probably become prevalent in the next few years. They are beginning to roll out WiMax service. This is like WiFi but over much greater distances. Within a few short years people will have access to mobile Internet almost anywhere in the world.
Most anyone that has information to distribute to the public should have a presence on the web. You can have information about what you do, contact information, and some samples of your work on a web site. Anyone can access your pages and find out about you and what you have to offer. The information that is on your page will be indexed by the search engines and when people do a search for a product or service they may find you. You can also publicize your site. A business card is a good thing to hand out, but the information that you can put on a card is limited. You can have much more information on a web page. People will not loose your page, it will be right there on the net waiting for them.
This is an informational page about the offer of free websites for photographers. I will put up an informational site for your business or hobby. I have a web site called Number One Pictures. I can set up a sub domain there for your site or you could use one of the other options listed through the main site. I do web design as a hobby. The purpose for offering these sites is to increase the traffic to my various sites. The sites would follow the general format of this site, including the Google ad boxes. On the home page there may be a 5 second audio ad as well. I will put up a gallery of your work for you. I also invite you to submit galleries for display on the Number One Pictures site. If you submit photos for publication there your galleries could be linked from your site. I also have a background images site, Symmetrical Backgrounds. I would consider making a custom page design using a background of your choice, as time permits.
